RI – RHODE ISLAND SOUND – NEW ENGLAND SOLO/TWIN – RACE/REGATTA
Mariners are advised that the New England Solo/Twin is scheduled to take place in Rhode Island Sound between Newport, Block Island, RI and Martha’s Vineyard, MA, from July 29, through July 30, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Expect up to 70 sailing vessels, 21 to 50ft in length. Mariners are advised that the Warwick, RI – National Night Out is scheduled to be held along the western stonewall of Oakland Beach in Warwick, RI. The event will take place on August 2, 2022, from 9:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Mariners are requested to maintain a minimum distance of two hundred fifty (250) yards from the fireworks launching platform. Mariners advised that Block Island to Montauk Swim scheduled on Block Island Sound near Montauk, NY. Mariners are advised that the Ida Lewis Yacht Club Shields Wednesday Night Series is scheduled to be held in

the vicinity of Castle Hill to Gould Island in Narragansett Bay, RI. The event will take place every Wednesday

from May 11 through October 5, 2022, between 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. Expect up to 30 sailing

vessels, 30ft in length. Mariners are advised to transit to the area with extreme caution. Mariners may contact the

vicinity of Rose and Goat Island in Narragansett Bay, RI. The event will take place on every Thursday evening

from May 12 through September 1, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day. Expect up to 12 sailing vessels,

Mariners are advised that the Narragansett Terrace Yacht Club Race Series is scheduled to be held in the vicinity

of Ohio Ledge and Sabin Point in Narragansett Bay, RI. The event will take place every Thursday from May 12

through September 11, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each evening. Expect up to 20 sailing vessels, 19-36ft

in length. Mariners are advised to transit to the area with caution. Mariners may contact the person in charge by

Mariners are advised that the Wickford Wednesday Night Racing Series is scheduled to be held in the vicinity of

Jamestown Bridge to Hope Island in Narragansett Bay, RI. The event will take place every Wednesday evening

starting May 15 through August 31, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. Expect up to 30 sailing

vessels, 17-45ft in length. Mariners are advised to transit to the area with extreme caution. Mariners may contact

Mariners are advised that the M32 Midtown Cup Race Series is scheduled to be held in the vicinity of

Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound. The event will take place on June 3 through August 14, 2022, from

12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expect up to 10 sailing vessels, 32ft in length. Mariners are advised to transit to the area

SHOALING

RI-NARRAGANSETT BAY (CHART 13221)-GREENWICH BAY-WARWICK COVE 

Shoaling has been observed within the federal navigation channel to a least depth of 3 FT MLW. Shoaling is encroaching from the west and has impacted the western part of the channel, reducing the authorized project width from 150 feet to approx. 90 feet between Warwick Cove Buoy 3 (LLNR 19360) and Warwick Cove Buoy 7 (LLNR 19375).

RI-BLOCK ISLAND SOUND AND APPROACHES (CHART 13205)-POINT JUDITH POND 

Shoaling has been observed within the channel to a least depth of 5.5 feet MLW in approximate position 41 22’48″N, 071 33’55″W between Point Judith Pond Channel Buoy 2 (LLNR 19555) and Point Judith Pond Channel Buoy 4 (LLNR #19560). Shoal is encroaching from the East side of the channel and protruding west.

RI-NARRAGANSETT BAT (CHART 13221)-MOUNT HOPE BAY-KICKAMUIT RIVER 

Shoaling has been reported in the Kickamuit River in the vicinity of Kickamuit River Buoy 2. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution while transiting the area. Chart 13221 LNM 12/21 

MA-MARTHA’S VINEYARD TO BLOCK ISLAND (Chart 13218)-WESTPORT HARBOR 

Shoaling exists in Westport Harbor in the vicinity of Westport Harbor Channel LB 14 (LLNR 17490) and Westport Harbor Channel Buoy 17 (LLNR 17505). There are other areas of shoaling throughout the Westport Harbor Channel reducing the available depth of water. Mariners are advised to use caution while navigating this area.
