Mollie serves as the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce, where she leads efforts to develop programs and events that support entrepreneurs and strengthen the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. Her work places a particular emphasis on ocean technology development, aiming to position Rhode Island as a hub for this growing industry.

Before assuming her current role, Mollie built a diverse career in education, beginning as a teacher and Middle School Head, and later becoming the Director of Career Development at IYRS School of Technology & Trades. At IYRS, she immersed herself in the marine industry, working closely with individuals passionate about boating and marine trades.

Mollie’s connection to sailing began at the age of 8 when she lived on a sailboat with her family in the Bahamas. As a teenager, she participated in several boat deliveries with her father, and at 38, she completed an all-women’s Outward Bound sailing course off the coast of Maine. Since relocating to Rhode Island in 2016, Mollie has embraced the local sailing community, regularly racing an Ensign every Tuesday and Wednesday night during the summer
