Can you help yourself or someone else in an emergency? Better yet, can you prevent that emergency from happening? If you own a kayak or SUP, this course is for you! It covers a wide range of safety topics every paddler should know, from gear to know-how and safe paddling behavior. Even casual paddles in calm waters have risk. Local hazards and new state law for paddlers will also be covered. This free classroom course is open to ALL. Join in and help build a safe paddling community!

This course is offered in collaboration with the Newport Harbormaster, the ACA, the Better Bay Alliance and the Newport Yacht Club.
